This air fryer garlic bread is the FASTEST way to make buttery, cheesy, and crisp garlic bread—it takes just 5 minutes. I always make it whenever my family enjoys a pasta dinner. It’s also highly requested whenever the cravings strike because, let’s be real, who can resist garlic bread?

Why I love this recipe

Quick and easy. When I make this in the oven, it usually takes 15-20 minutes, but in the air fryer, it takes no more than 5 minutes. Best texture. Because the air fryer circulates the heat, the bread is always crispy, but the middle is soft and fluffy. Works with fresh or frozen garlic bread. While I love making this from scratch, you can also use pre-frozen garlic bread. Versatile. Don’t think my cheesy garlic bread is reserved for pasta or pizza nights! I make it as an easy side dish for soups, chicken, or whenever we want a quick snack.

Ingredients needed

White baguette. I like to use a baguette (French stick) as they make smaller rounds of bread and the more authentic base for the garlic butter. Of course, ciabatta or even a small sourdough loaf will also work. Salted butter. Softened to room temperature. I recommend using good quality butter from a block, as it makes all the difference. Garlic cloves. Freshly minced please, not the powdered kind! We want this bread to be full of garlic flavor. Fresh parsley. Finely chopped, but dried parsley works in a pinch. Parmesan cheese. Optional, but grating a little parmesan cheese on top of the bread before air frying takes it to the next level and gives it the gorgeous golden crunch (as pictured).

Arman’s recipe tips

To avoid soggy bread, always cook the garlic bread in a single layer. If needed, cook them in batches. Make garlic toast. All you do is switch out the bread for sliced bread and air fry it as instructed.  Add aluminum foil or parchment paper to the base of the air fryer. This prevents the base of the garlic bread from crisping up too much. Don’t fret, though- it won’t burn through and will make clean-up even easier.  Use other cheeses, like mozzarella, cheddar, or even goat cheese.

Storage instructions

To store. Leftover garlic bread can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 days. You can bake the garlic bread in the oven instead. Simply prep the garlic bread as instructed. When ready to bake, add them to a preheated oven and bake at 180C/350F for 8 minutes. To freeze. Place leftovers in a ziplock bag and store them in the freezer for up to two months. Reheating. For the ultimate crispiness and oozying butter
