Does anyone in Australia know of a good substitute for the “lauki” is? I’m not sure of its flavour profile, but it’s a squash of sorts so I’m thinking maybe just Butternut Squash/Pumpkin?

I love this recipe! I make it once a week. Every week! I omitted the besam because I am severely allergic to wheat, barley, lentils, dals and beans. I am a vegetarian. If I could hug you I would! I watch your channel. I have made several of your dishes and I LOVE them!

Besan is chickpea flour – nothing to do with wheat. Are you able to have chickpeas?
