Crispy Sweet Chili Chicken Recipe
Make crispy chicken – First, coat chicken with a mixture of soy sauce, cayenne pepper and a small egg. Although cayenne pepper is not used in the traditional recipe, it adds a hint of heat. Don’t forget the essential seasonings – salt and pepper. Now, simply coat each chicken strips in cornstarch or corn flour before frying them. If you are after a healthier version, you can bake or air fry them. Make stir fry sauce – It’s a simple mixture of soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, honey and fresh grated ginger. This sauce forms the flavor key of this dish. Stir fry crispy sweet chili chicken – I highly recommend stir frying the chicken-sweet chili combo just before serving. To do this, start with stir frying garlic followed by sauteing some bell peppers (capsicum). Once they turn tender crisp, add the stir fry sauce and cook for about 2 minutes. Toss the fried chicken in this sauce. A generous addition of chopped spring onions (scallions) makes the dish pop.
