Bake your favorite fruit, preferably firm fruits like berries or peaches, with dough, and you get a delicious cobbler. All dessert cobblers are winners in my recipe book, and you can play around with the type of fruit and dough used. And sometimes, you need a quick and easy recipe with all the deliciousness, and that’s where this “magic prep” idea comes in. This mixed berry cobbler recipe incorporates a layer of cake-like sweet batter topped with frozen berries. So all you have to do is layer them in a deep baking dish and bake. It requires about 50 minutes to cook, and you’ll be amazed to see how easy it is to whip up a warm dessert for cold winter nights. Personally, I love to serve this with a generous scoop of ice cream. Cream is a great option too.

Mixed Berry Cobbler Recipe

Batter – A simple mix of flour, sugar and milk. And don’t forget a tiny pinch of salt. Whisk flour and sugar in a bowl before adding in milk to form smooth batter. Bake – We have three layers in this recipe: melted butter, batter and frozen berries. You’ll need melted butter to cover the base of the baking dish. Pour batter into the dish. Add berries. Bake this for about 50 minutes. During the cooking process, the fruits release the juices creating a delicious puddle of berries beneath the dough layer. So easy to make!
