What’s your cooking style? I’d say, “a mixture of tried and true classics from around the world with a touch of trendy add-ons”. When it comes to cooking, I think most people I know fall into this one category. The fact is that food trends may come and go, but traditional recipes are hard to refuse. They always hold a special place on our menu. And wherever I live, there’s one thing that always make me happy – traditional homemade food cooked with love. Well, I do have a very long list of comforting homemade food, and chaats obviously secure a top position. Talking about chaats, I can’t think about a better recipe for today. It’s all about one of the three chutneys that add pops of flavor to your favorite chaats – green chutney. Alongside sweet tamarind chutney and fiery red chili garlic chutney, this chutney made with coriander (cilantro) and mint leaves make your favorite chaat taste unbelievably tasty. It’s healthy, vibrant, and oh so delicious. Ok, let’s break down the recipe, and learn the simple technique to make this amazing green chutney. As I mentioned, the simple core elements of this chutney are two of my favorite green herbs – coriander (cilantro) leaves and mint leaves. To add extra flavor to the chutney, we also have lemon juice and a pinch of sugar. All the ingredients go into a blender. Now, blend. Add a little water and blend again until you get a thick smooth paste. And done. Simple as that. The perfect green chutney that you can enjoy with all your favorite chaats. Best part? You can store it in your refrigerator for up to a week.
