Wondering how to shred Brussels sprouts: the right way? Shaved Brussels sprouts are popular in salads and as a side dish: but how to actually cut them? You can use your food processor, but you can also do it with a knife quickly and simply! But if you do it the wrong way, it won’t make those signature shreds. How to shred Brussels sprouts step by step
Step 1
Remove any tough outer layers of the Brussels sprouts: this will vary based on the quality of the sprouts.
Step 2
With a large Chef’s knife, slice the Brussels sprout in half lengthwise.
Step 3
Place the cut side down and thinly slice the sprout cross-wise, making thin shreds.
Step 4
Loosen the pieces with your fingers. Discard the root end. That’s it!
