Usually I refrain from cooking prawns. It’s not that I hate them but because of the fact that cleaning them eats up an awful amount of valuable time. I know you’ll agree with me. However, on the other side, I’d love some succulent fried prawns for dinner. And I’d prefer to buy fresh prawns with shells intact rather than the pre-cleaned ones.  Yield: 2 Kerala Prawns Fry         			Print		    This prawns fry is easy to make and ready in 20 minutes.     Prep Time 10 minutes    Cook Time 10 minutes    Total Time 20 minutes      Ingredients   						500g prawns, cleaned and deveined					  						½ tsp ground turmeric					  						2 tbsp chilly powder					  						½ tsp ground coriander					  						½ tsp garlic paste					  						½ tsp ginger paste					  						½ tsp ground black pepper					  						1/2 tsp lemon juice					  						½ of 1 medium onion, sliced (optional)					  						1 sprig of curry leaves (optional)					  						Oil for shallow frying the prawns					     Instructions Clean and devein the prawns. Place the cleaned prawns in a bowl.Marinate them with ground turmeric, chilly powder, ground coriander, ginger paste, garlic paste, and ground black pepper. Keep it covered in the refrigerator for 10 – 15 minutes.Heat oil in a frying pan, and arrange the prawns in a single layer.Shallow fry prawns until done. Throw in the sliced onions and curry leaves just before removing it from heat (Skip this step if you don’t like onions and curry leaves in fried prawns).Give a quick stir.Voila! It’s ready! Moist and succulent fried prawns.Serve hot with rice or chappathi.
