The classic payasams are super sweet desserts from South India. In Kerala, it’s a quintessential part of Onam (harvest festival of Kerala), and the Onam feast is incomplete without this popular sweet. Technically, this oats payasam with oats and jaggery base is a variation of the classic version. To be honest, the combination of oats and jaggery is crazy good. Instant oats lightly toasted and then cooked in jaggery syrup and coconut milk. I topped it with fried cashews and raisins just before serving. All together it makes  one brilliant healthy dessert!
