You probably already know the magic of strawberry salad dressing. But Alex and I are recent converts. How have we not made this until now? This strawberry vinaigrette salad dressing is our new favorite. It’s lightly sweet, tangy, and perfect for green salads. Made with apple cider vinegar and maple syrup, it’s naturally sweet too! Even better, it takes only 5 minutes to whip up in a blender. Put it on a strawberry spinach salad, and you’ve got one darn crowd-pleasing plate of fruits and veggies. Here’s how to make it!
How to make strawberry salad dressing
This strawberry salad dressing is truly easy to make at home! It’s quickest using an immersion blender or small smoothie blender, but you can also use a standard size blender and blend a little longer. It takes only 5 minutes to make, which is time very well spent, if you ask us! Here are the ingredients you’ll need for this dressing:
Sliced ripe strawberries Apple cider vinegarExtra-virgin olive oilMaple syrupKosher salt
Blend it up until it’s creamy, and you’ve got a vibrantly-colored strawberry vinaigrette that you won’t be able to stop eating. Our toddler Larson is obsessed with this dressing!
Strawberry salad dressing variations
Here are a few variations on a theme for this strawberry vinaigrette:
Sweetener: Because it uses maple syrup, this salad dressing is vegan. We use maple syrup to sweeten most of our salad dressings: it has a lovely flavor and is way easier to get out of the container than honey! If you prefer, use honey or agave syrup instead of the maple syrup. Vinegar: You can use different types of vinegar in place of the apple cider vinegar. White wine vinegar or champagne vinegar would be natural fits here. Oil: You can also change to a neutral oil like grapeseed or vegetable oil. But we recommend olive oil because of the brilliant pink color it achieves! Grapeseed oil makes for a much lighter pink color. Alex and I also preferred the flavor with olive oil.
The most important part: use ripe strawberries!
Whatever the case, make sure to use ripe, in-season strawberries here! The quality of this strawberry vinaigrette is fully dependent on the sweetness of the berries, so you’ve got to have good berries to make it taste just right.

Strawberry spinach salad: This one is on repeat all summer long! Topped with sliced strawberries, red onion, pecans, and crumbled cheese, it’s truly a stunner.Massaged kale salad with pomegranate: The fruity flavors in this massaged kale salad pair well with a sweet strawberry vinaigrette dressing! Sub out the apple for sliced strawberries.Simplest green salad: This green salad calls for a balsamic vinaigrette: but why not add a strawberry vinaigrette dressing instead? Go with or without sliced strawberries and make it your own!
